Entry requirements

  • All applicants must be at least 18 years of age. Applicants must have completed the New Zealand qualification standard NCEA level 2 equivalent in their home country. Subjects must have included English, Reading, Writing and Maths
  • All applicants will be required to complete an enrolment form and may be interviewed in person or via telephone or skype to evaluate their suitability for the programme
  • Applicants who have English as a second language must have an International English Language Test System (IELTS) score of 6.0 with no individual band score lower than 5.0 in a single test event (or equivalent)

Modules
Virtualisation Infrastructure

You will learn about selecting and installing the correct edition of Windows Server and the features available in each. This will include installing new versions of Windows Server into existing infrastructure.

Directory Services

This module covers the role of the Directory Service in managing authentication and authorisation of users and computers.

Network Infrastructure

You will learn how to configure and maintain key network infrastructure services to support a high-performing and highly-available network using Windows Server.

Business Messaging Infrastructure

You will be introduced to the role of business collaborative applications and will experience installing, configuring, and maintaining a single site instance.

Payment options

EmployNZ is eligible for Targeted Training Apprenticeship Fund (TTAF) in 2021. There will be no enrolment or tuition cost (no fees) for domestic students in this course. This fund is to support students to undertake vocational education and training without fees regardless if you have studied before. Information Technology has been targeted by the NZ Government due to the demand from employers for these skills continuing to be strong, or is expected to grow, during New Zealand’s recovery period from the impacts of COVID-19.

Who is eligible to access TTAF?

  • All domestic students eligible for government tuition subsidies are eligible to access TTAF
  • For provider-based study, this includes all New Zealand citizens or residence visa holders studying in New Zealand
  • For industry training at a workplace, anyone legally entitled to work in New Zealand can access TTAF
  • This means that people of all ages, regardless of their prior study, can access study or training opportunities through TTAF without having to pay fees
