What you'll learn

Gain a comprehensive understanding of marketing and sales principles
From the philosophy of marketing to market segmentation and branding, this qualification will provide you with the building blocks to start out on your marketing career with confidence and clarity. You will gain a thorough understanding of the principles behind successful marketing and sales techniques as well as their practical application within the workplace.

Understand buyer behaviour
Yes, buyer behaviour is a science to be learnt and mastered! This qualification will equip you with the right tools to understand buyer decision making and the influences on buyer behaviour. Why do we do what we do and why do we make those brand buying decisions? All will be revealed in a way that enables you to apply the practice within your workplace or business entity.

Awareness of market intelligence
The market research component is core to any sales business. It helps an organisation understand their consumer and the consumer decision making process so that marketing can be tweaked and fine-tuned to maximise sales. If you are working in sales and marketing, you do need to understand this science. This qualification will help you gain a sound awareness of the tools of market research and how to apply them within your business environment.

Duration study load

  • Part-time: 72 weeks | Full-time: 36 weeks
  • Indicative hours per week: Part-time: 16.5 | Full-time: 33

Delivery

This qualification is made up of eight courses. Each course is delivered over 9 weeks. NZQA guidelines suggest up to 150 hours of total study time for a 15 credit course. So to complete one of the courses successfully in the 9 weeks you must be prepared to devote approximately 16.5 hours per week to your study. Depending on your previous academic online experience and course level this may vary to a certain degree.

Entry requirements

50 credits NZCE Level 2 or above which must include:

  • 12 credits at Level 2 in each of three subjects and
  • 8 Literacy credits at Level 2 or above in English or Te Reo (4 credits must be in reading and 4 credits in writing) and
  • 14 Numeracy credits at Level 1 or above in Mathematics or Pangaea.

Professional recognition

All qualifications will be awarded by one of these providers. Courses completed through eCampus NZ are industry recognised and accepted by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA). Graduates may attend the graduation ceremony of the relevant tertiary partner and will receive a parchment from the institute at which they enrolled.
